Factory Stock
2009 FACTORY STOCK
1. Car: Any American made 2-wheel drive, rear wheel drive, front engine car. Min 108" wheelbase allowed. Wheel base must be same as car being run. No sports cars allowed (Mustangs, Corvette, ect). Camaro with factory 108" wheelbase (1970-1982) is OK. No independent rear suspension, no 4-wheel drive.
2. Engine - Flat top pistons No aftermarket heads. No Vortec Heads. No roller cams. No roller rocker arms. No stud girdles. No aftermarket blocks allowed. Stock cast iron 2 or 4 barrel intake. Max 1" spacer allowed. No porting polishing or port matching allowed. Cast iron exhaust manifolds or headers are allowed. No 180-degree headers allowed. No MSD or Magnetos. No ignition control boxes. Stock HEI or point type distributors with one 12-volt coil allowed.360 cu in or less may run unmodified Holley 4412 2-barrel or vacum secondary 4-barrel carburetor. 361 cu in or bigger MUST use unmodified Holley 4412 2-barrel carburetor. Must be in stock location. Must be same make as the car (Ford/Ford, Chevy/Chevy). (Stamped steel roller rocker OK, same as B-Mod.)
3. Transmission and Clutch: OEM original transmissions only. Must run stock full size flywheel and clutch assembly or Powerglide with stock torque converter. All gears must work. Must have 1 1/2" hole in bottom of bell housing for inspection purposes. Bell housing must be approved explosion proof steel bell housing.
4. Drive shaft - Steel OEM drive shaft only. Must have drive shaft loop made from minimum 1/4"X2" steel around front of drive shaft no more than six inches behind rear of transmission.
5. Rear End - Floater rear end o.k.. Any stock type production rear end is acceptable. 9" Ford is permitted with drum or disc brakes. No quick changes or quick change devices allowed. No Detroit Lockers, No posi-trac. May lock rear end with spool or mini spool.
6. Body: Rear of body must remain stock appearing, no cut outs except for taillights. Plastic nose is OK. All glass and chrome must be removed. No Jeeps, SUV, Station wagons or convertibles. Cars must be neat in appearance and look like model being run. Numbers must be a minimum of 18" and be displayed on both doors and roof in a contrasting color so as to be easily visible in the tower for scoring purposes. 6" Spoiler allowed. Max 18" side braces must be triangular. Must have a minimum of 3 vertical bars in front of driver. Minimum diameter 3/8". All sharp objects must be removed from inside the drivers compartment.
7. Driver's Area - Steering column in stock location. May have quick release-style steering wheel. Clutch, brake and gas pedals all in stock location. May fabricate your own clutch pedal if necessary. Closed in interiors o.k. (dash does not have to be original, but sheet metal can be bent to look like dash) (steering shaft may have tubing, but must be in stock location.) Steering quickiners allowed. Passenger side may be covered, but a removable or hinged inspection cover at least 12" by 12" must be installed 6" in from passenger side door centered in window opening.
8. Roll Cage - 6 POINT CAGE with at lease 3 driver side door bars and 2 passenger side door bars. Must be securely welded to original frame rails. Radiator guard allowed. Mild steel tubing, with a minimum of 1 1/2" by .095" thickness. If car is a uni-body the front and rear sub-frames must be connected by 2"x2" tubing with a minimum thickness of .095 securely welded.
9. Firewall - Must retain full original firewall and floorboards. May cut trunk for fuel cell. Must remain in stock location. Must have fully enclosed rear firewall between passenger compartment and trunk area.
10. Bumper - Stock appearing rear bumpers only. No tube bumpers. Nerf bar no more than 8 inches above rear bumper is allowed.
11. Brakes - Factory original type.. Rear disc brakes allowed. Right front shut off o.k. All 4 brakes must lock up on inspection. Must have stock OEM master cylinder.
12. Suspension - No modifications allowed to suspension components. Suspension must remain stock for that model of car. Factory length, stock trailing arms, NO exceptions. Trailing arms must be in the stock location on frame. Trailing arm mounts on rear axle may be no lower than 3" below the axle tube. Leaf springs in stock location, lowering blocks allowed. No adjustable lowering blocks allowed. No adjustable spring cups allowed. No weight jacks of any kind allowed. Stock upper and lower a-arm only in stock location. Aftermarket coil spring are allowed but must remain in stock location and be stock appearing. 5" minimum spring diameter. No pull bars, j-bars, or panhard bars allowed.
13. Shocks - No bearing end shocks. One shock per wheel must be mounted in stock location and stock mounts.
14. Tires and Wheels - American Racer KK704 tires on 8" wheels or asphalt takeoffs on 10" wheels. Bead locks, OK on right side. 1" lug nuts are required.
15. Fuel Cells-Minimum 12 gallon and maximum 32-gallon fuel cell enclosed in 20 gauge steel container. Mounted securely to the frame by a minimum of two 1/8th X 1 1/2" steel straps that fully encircle the fuel cell. All fuel cells must be mounted in the trunk area Fuel line must run under car and no through the drivers compartment.
16. Battery - One 12-volt battery securely mounted. Battery must be totally encased if mounted in the drivers area.
17. Fuel - No nitrous, no alcohol, no aviation gas, no fuel additives of any kind allowed. Pump gas and racing gas allowed.
18. Clutch Pedal - After market clutch pedal is allowed.
19. Steering - All steering components must remain stock for that model car. You may add tubing for the shaft and quick release hub. Steering quickners allowed. After market power steering is allowed.
20. SAFETY - Minimum 5 point safety harness, no more than 2 years old. Safety harness must be securely mounted to the frame with a minimum of 1/2" bolts in a way such as the belts will not be cut by sharp edges. Must have high back racing seat made of minimum .125 aluminum, no fiberglass seats. Seat must be securely mounted to the frame and/or roll cage. Must have working fire extinguisher mounted securely within easy reach of driver. Must have window net mounted in such a way as driver can fasten and unfasten while buckled in. Must have kill switch mounted directly behind driver that shuts all electricity off and must be clearly marked ON/OFF.
21.Weight-Any weight added to car must be attached by weight clamp and be painted white with car number. Weight must be attached by a minimum of two 1/2" bolts and weight clamps. No bolts welded to bars or frames.
CLARIFICATION ON BODY - No gutting except doors, hood, trunk lid, roof halo. Trunk floor from center of rearend back only
