2009 Late Model 

 

   
1. Chassis/Body: All cars must have fuel cell, 32 gal. maximum; completely enclosed. All fuel cells must be completely visible. All cells to have a minimum of two (2) 2”x1/8” steel straps surrounding them. Minimum 1 1/2” outside diameter tubing braced hoop behind cell. This hoop must be in place at all times. Fuel cells cannot be lower than bottom of quick change and it is highly recommended that a rollover valve be installed along with the pickup coming out the top of fuel cell and not the bottom. This is MANDATORY . Fire extinguisher system recommended, but not required. A 1 1/2” 18-gauge steel drive shaft hoop MANDATORY. All round tube chassis must be a minimum of 1 3/4” outside diameter tubing, with minimum wall thickness of .083. Body must conform to attached late model drawing. All cars must have tow hook, for towing purposes only, cable or chain preferred. Tow hook cannot extend in front of car or have battering ram capabilities. All roofs must be 41” from front to back minimum and 48” wide side-to-side minimum. Rounded and tapered stock appearing roofs only! NO partial roofs. NO flat roofs. NO tilted roofs. Roofs can be no more than 45” from front to back maximum and 54” from side-to-side maximum. NO dished out roofs. NO wings attached to roof or to side posts. NO built in fiberglass air dams. Must be stock appearing. All roof posts must meet outside of car. Must be a full roof. Side vents on front roof posts can extend back no further than 16” on bottom, then straight up to roof for an L configuration. Side vents must meet outside of car. Front roof supports must be flat and of uniform width from top to bottom. 2” minimum widths with a maximum 1” break at top and bottom. Rear roof post supports must meet outside of car on a flat straight line and be stock appearing.  Minimum width on bottom - 18”; minimum width on top - 8”. Maximum width on bottom - 24”; maximum width on top - 12”. Generic rear roof posts must be 32” or greater from rear of trunk. Stock appearing rear sail posts must be OEM size and same make and model as nosepiece. All structural tubing must remain inside body. All added weights will be white with drivers number painted on them. Any car that loses their weight will forfeit their winnings to any competitor that was taken out of race. All added weights will be securely mounted to car with minimum of two (2) 1/2” bolts thru each 50 lb. of added weight. NO weights on rear bumper or outside of car. Interior of car must be 12” below rollcage minimum and all areas of roof, from front window to behind drivers seat. No area of the interior of cockpit can be less than 12” below the roof and rollcage for safe, easy exiting of car from either side. Windows must have 12” clearance straight up and down, 15” at angle to door. NO support bars blocking right exit from cockpit allowed. NO wings of any kind allowed in cockpit. NO rear wing under trunk. Fuel cell must be completely visible. NO tunnels or wings inside car. NO spoilers underneath car for special ground hugging effects. Right inner mud shield must end at tail section of transmission. Rear quarter panels cannot be higher than any portion of rear trunk. NO TOLERANCE! Trunk cannot be longer than quarter panels, must be level for 32” from rear of quarter panels and spoiler. NO side fins of any kind the entire length of car. Interior of car may be dropped. Tire clearance from body at least 2”. NO wheel skirts. 8” maximum spoiler. Total material measured from trunk to tip of material, 72” wide maximum. Side spoiler supports must not exceed template. No longer than 18” on bottom. The entire support must be on trunk. Rear of support can angle upward for a maximum of 8”. Bottom of front of support can only come up less than 1 1/2” before going at an angle to the top, similar to the attached drawing. Maximum total length of top of support - 22 1/2”. Rear of support can have a strength bend of less than 1” at a slight angle. Minimum height to top of roof - 45”. Maximum height to top of trunk - 36”. Maximum height to top of spoiler - 44”. Maximum height to top of hood or front fenders - 36”. No portion of hood to exceed - 36”. Must be level and flat from side-to-side. Fenders cannot gain height from rear to front. Nose - 72”. Cockpit top and bottom bars - 76”. Middle cockpit bar can be 78” maximum for appearance only. Rear of car - 72” top and 76” bottom. Middle of rear can extend to 76” maximum. Stock nose must be of molded type material - 2 pieces. Nose must be fastened together in center, NO spacing to gain width. Must be mounted not to alter original shape, maximum - 46” from center of hub to furthest point extruding forward. Cannot slope back more then 6” from bottom. Front fender flares must be made of plastic and cannot alter original shape of nosepiece. No wider than - 84” at any point, with NO pressure on template. Hub to front of slope nose - 46”. Hub to front of stock nose - 46” maximum. Maximum width from outside of front tire to outside of front tire - 88” maximum. Maximum width of rear tire - 86”. No more than 8” of any tire to be outside of body. Aluminum block must have 50-lb. weight in front of bellhousing. 1/8” aluminum or 18-gauge steel shield floorboard for driver protection from driveshaft, recommended. Rear offsets are illegal. Rear of car cannot extend wider than rear tire. NO mirrors. NO rear pushbars to extend over 6” beyond rear quarter panel. NO adjustable shocks, hydraulic or pneumatic weight jacks, trackers or similar adjustable components of any kind inside of cockpit of car. NO taping over, must be removed from car.
2. Engines: Maximum 6” setback from center of ball joint to front spark hole. NO TOLERANCE! 4-barrel carburetor. NO fuel injection. NO electric fuel pumps. NO nitrous oxide, nitrous methane or propylene oxide. All engines limited to 1 spark plug and 2 valves per cylinder. NO dual magnetos. All headers must be pointed away from ground, horizontal, preferably to outside of car. Any engine combination will be legal in the 2009 season. NOTE: All aluminum motors MUST ad 50# in front of bell housing.
3. Tires/Wheels
: Hoosier D-55’s on all four corners. 11” tire. NO EXCEPTIONS!
4. Transmissions
: All driveshafts must be white coloration. Rear end must be floater type or quickchange. NO hubs. All cars must be able to start and engage in gear while running.
