2009 SEASON All racing at the Speedway is “Open Invitational”.
Every one is invited to enter unless notified at the check-in gate. The
management reserves the right to refuse entry to any car, driver, owner
or crew member. The race officials are empowered to permit minor
deviations from any of the specifications herein or impose any further
restrictions that do not alter the minimum acceptable requirements. The
management reserves the right to make changes to these rules deemed
necessary to allow for a more competitive program for the racers and
spectators.
All specifications and regulations contained herein are subject to
deletions, additions and/or modifications by
Speedway officials without prior notification.
DRIVER AND PIT RULES:
Drivers must be 16 years of age or older. Spectators 1 through 18
years of age entering the pit area must have a signed and notarized
release form at the pit gate.
Drivers and owners
are responsible for the conduct of each crew member. Any drinking or
misconduct such as but not limited to fighting will result in
suspension of the car, driver and entire crew.
Anyone arriving after 7:00 p.m. will start tail back in the heat races.
1. We want slow and even starts with all cars in line.
2. Five minutes will be allowed on the RED FLAG. Any car taking longer
than five minutes will be towed to the pits. Any car entering the
pit area on a RED FLAG or a YELLOW FLAG will go TAIL BACK.
3. The YELLOW FLAG means CAUTION. DO NOT STOP ON THE YELLOW FLAG. When
the YELLOW FLAG or RED FLAG comes out do not race to the flag stand.
Line up will go back to the last fully completed lap under the GREEN.
4. A RED FLAG means STOP as quickly and safely as possible. Cars will
according to the way they finished on the last fully
completed lap under the GREEN. 5. If the hood of your car comes up, and
you continue to race unsafely, you will be disqualified. If your car
has loose or dangling parts, or a wheel comes off, you will be
disqualified if you continue to race unsafely. 6. In the case of rain
during a race, the flagman will show the WHITE FLAG and then one lap
later he will show the CHECKERED FLAG. The management will determine if
weather conditions deem ending the night’s event.
7. In the event of a rain out, if the heat races have been completed,
the race is a show; features will be run the next scheduled race night
before the regularly scheduled show, and payout will be paid on the
night of features. A rain out before heat races have been completed is
considered a no race and no pay; gate fees will be honored the next
week.
8. If for any reason, a race is run one lap short or one lap long, the
race is officially over when the CHECKERED FLAG falls.
9. A race will not end on a RED or YELLOW FLAG.
10. Any car signing in after opening night, on a points night, will
start tail back of the fast heats and tail back of the A feature. This
includes Championship night.
11. Any unsportsman like conduct by drivers, owners and/or pit crew
shall be grounds for disqualification and/or punitive action by the
SPEEDWAY and will be strictly enforced. Drivers are responsible for the
conduct and actions of their crew members.1. You and/or your crewmembers may not enter or approach the pit area of any other driver
with whom you had contact or whom you feel caused contact in any race at any time.
You are expected to contact a track official regarding your concerns. The officials have
the authority to disqualify a car even after the race if family members, fans, owner or pit
crew cause problems.
2. The officials will gladly discuss anything with the DRIVER ONLY
12. ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES are to be consumed by drivers or
their pit crews prior to or during an event. Use of illegal drugs at
ANY TIME shall be cause for immediate indefinite suspension.
13. NO DRIVER CHANGES ALLOWED AFTER THE START OF THE RACE night.
14. IT IS THE DRIVER’S RESPONSIBILITY TO KNOW HIS START POSITION.
15. When drawing for start position; track officials/and or employee`s are not
allowed to Draw for drivers for any reason.NO EXCEPTIONS
16. Once a car has left the track during a race, shall not re-enter
the race track if they are more than one lap down. Additionally, they
are not permitted to re-enter race track under green condition.
17. Under no circumstances shall a driver get out of his/her car on the
race track or apron. Exiting your car will result in disqualification.
Exceptions being, driver’s safety, or instruction from a track
official. 18. Any driver making contact with another car after the
checker flag will be disqualified for the night and/or may be suspended
for unsportsmanlike conduct.
19. Any driver entering or driving recklessly through the pits will be
disqualified and/ or suspended.
20. New driver/car with minor rule deviations may be permitted by
speedway officials to race on a first night out basis.
FLAGMAN HAS COMPLETE AUTHORITY BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER RACE.
SAFETY:
1. A working fire extinguisher is required in all cars and must be
within driver’s reach inside the car. 2. ALL DRIVERS MUST WEAR A FULL
FIRE SUIT; gloves and shoes required. Fire suit must be flame retardant
nature and in good condition.
3. Safety nets are required in ALL DIVISIONS. Nets are to be mounted to
disconnect at the top left corner.
4. BRAKES: Must operate on all four (4) wheels and must lock up all
four (4) wheels during inspection.
5. Tow hooks are to be mounted on the front and back of all cars.
6. HELMETS: (a.) Helmets are required and must be Snell-rated SA 95, SA
2000 or SA 2005 and "must be worn at all times when the car is on the
track. (b.) Helmet must accompany the vehicle at the time of
inspection.
7. All vehicles must have the capability of starting without being
pushed or pulled. All race cars must join the line up on demand
unaided, or go tail back of that race.
8. EXHAUST SYSTEM: Must be mounted in such a way as to direct spent
gasses away from cockpit or vehicle and away from areas of possible
fuel spillage.
9. FUEL CELLS: Approved fuel cells are mandatory and must be mounted by
at least two (2) steel straps, two inches (2") wide around the cell.
Fuel cells must also have check valves and bladders are highly
recommended. Fuel cells are limited to 32 gallons maximum capacity. 10.
BATTERIES: Must be securely mounted and shielded. Batteries mounted
inside the vehicle must be in marine type cases.
11. FUEL: May be either gasoline or alcohol, EIRI; No Nitrous Oxide. No
additives of any kind. Street Stock, Factory Stock may
not use alcohol. 12. LOOSE OBJECTS AND/OR WEIGHTS: Will not be allowed
in driver’s compartment. Any weights added to other areas of the
vehicle must be securely mounted using two (2) ½" bolts, painted white,
and marked with car number. Weights are to be mounted below all windows
and behind the body inside the frame area.
13. SIDE BARS: Must be as parallel with the ground as possible and
located perpendicular to the driver to provide maximum protection for
the driver without causing difficult entrance to or exit of the
vehicle. The side bars must be welded to the front and rear of the roll
cage members. No brazing or soldering allowed.
14. NUMBERS: All cars must be numbered with large legible numbers on
both doors, top and rear panel. Numbers on doors of car are to be in a
contrasting color from the body color. Numbers should measure at least
4" thick and be at least 20" high. Top numbers should be at least 4"
thick and 30" high. NO PRISM TAPE.
Sponsors names must not interfere with the car number and must be
neatly lettered.
15. SHOULDER HARNESS: Competition type at least 3" and substrip are
required. No factory shoulder belts or straps are allowed. Metal to
metal buckles are required on shoulder and seat belts. Harness must be
mounted in at least three points even with or below driver’s shoulders.
Belts and harnesses are to be in good condition; and are to be
inspected yearly. Belts should not be over two (2) years old.
16. KILL SWITCH: Required within easy reach of the driver. Switch must
be clearly marked “off” and “on”.MASTER BATTERY SWITCH LOCATED BEHIND DRIVER MANDATORY FOR 2009
17. DRIVE SHAFT LOOP: Required and must be constructed of at least
1/4" x 2" steel and must be mounted no more than 6" back from the front
of the drive shaft. Drive shaft must be painted white.
18. TRANSMISSION: Only OEM production transmission will be allowed ( 3
speed, 4 speed and automatic). No 5 speed transmissions. No “in and
out” boxes. No buttons or couplers. Must all be clutch operated.
Bert/brinn allowed on Late Models and Modified 19. NO CARBON FIBER WHEELS.
20. Wheels must have all lug nuts in place.
All cars must be equipped with a scatter shield.
NO DIRECT DRIVE: exception– If you have a break down driver must
let officials know he is going to run direct drive. Failure to notify
officials, in the event of a top (4) finish that may be teched,
driver will be disqualified.
NO FIBERGLASS SEATS! Aluminum only, minimum thickness of .125.
SAFETY AND LEGAL ISSUE OF ANY RACE CAR IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE
DRIVER DURING AND AFTER ANY RACE WHETHER OR NOT IT HAS UNDERGONE
TECHNICAL INSPECTION.
ANY CAR INVOLVED IN A RESTART or stopping on the track (failure to
maintain forward motion) WILL GO TO THE REAR. ANY CAR involved in Two
(2) RESTARTS or stopping twice (2) IN THE SAME RACE WILL BE
DISQUALIFIED FOR THE BALANCE OF THAT RACE.AND BE SCORED LAST IN THE EVENT, Rough Driving Could and Or cause You to Lose Points and Prize Money....
ALL CARS NO MATTER WHAT CLASS CAN BE TECHED IN ANY GIVEN WAY DEEMED NECESSARY ,DURING THIS INSPECTION NO ONE BUT THE DRIVER WILL BE PRESENT WITH THE TECH MAN,FAILING INSPECTION YOU WILL HAVE TILL THE FOLLOWING WEEK TO GET THE CAR LEGAL,
ALL CLASSES(BEAD LOCK ON RIGHT SIDE ALLOWED)
IF THERE IS ANYTHING NOT COVERED IN THESE RULES, CHECK WITH THE
OFFICIALS.DEFINITIVE RULES AGAINST UNSPORTSMAN LIKE
CONDUCT
NO EXCEPTIONS ON THE BEHALF OF BUTLERMOTORSPEEDWAY. FIGHTING WILL GET YOU A RIDE TO JAIL. BY THE OFFICERS ON DUTY
ARE GIVEN THE RIGHT BY THE MANAGEMENT AND STATE TO ENFORCE THE RULES
AND REGULATIONS AS WELL AS THE COUNTY, STATE, AND FEDERAL LAWS. **ANY
UNAUTHORIZED PARTICIPANT, INCLUDING PITCREW MEMBERS, ENTERING FLAGMAN’S
STAND OR JUDGE’S BOX WILL CAUSE DRIVER TO BE DISQUALIFIED AND LOSE
POINTS AND MONEY FOR THE ENTIRE NIGHT.
DRIVERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR CREW MEMBERS AND FAMILY! ANY PERSON
CAUSING OR BECOMING INVOLVED UNSPORTSMAN LIKE BEHAVIOR, INCLUDING, BUT
NOT LIMITED TO, STOPPING ON THE TRACK TO ARGUE OR PROTEST WILL BE
SUSPENDED FOR THE LENGTH OF TIME SET FORTH BY THE MANAGEMENT AND/ OR BE
SUBJECTED TO A FINE THAT MAY PUT INTO A POINTS FUND. THESE RULES WILL
BE STRICTLY ENFORCED. 1. ANY DRIVER INVOLVED IN A FIGHT,VERBAL OR PHYSICALLY WILL LOAD HIS
CAR AND EQUIPMENT IMMEDIATELY AND LEAVE THE SPEEDWAY GROUNDS.
DRIVER WILL AUTOMATICALLY LOSE POINTS AND PRIZE MONEY FOR THAT EVENT
NIGHT
ANY PIT CREW MEMBER, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, FRIEND, BUDDY,
WIFE, GIRLFRIEND, SIGNED IN A DRIVER’S PIT, INVOLVED IN A FIGHT, WILL BE SUSPENDED AND LOSE POINTS AND PRIZE MONIES FOR THAT EVENT OR THE BALANCE OF THE RACES SEASON WHICHEVER MAY EQUAL
SUSPENSION TIME ALLOCATED.. ANY OBJECT PRESENTED AS A WEAPON WILL BE
CONFISCATED BY THE SPEEDWAY FOR AN UNDETERMINED AMOUNT OF TIME.
ANY ONE FOUND PRESENTING A “WEAPON” , i.e. INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED
TO, JACK HANDLE, BASEBALL BAT, BEVERAGE CONTAINER, SCREWDRIVER, HAMMER,
OR TIRE IRON, WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE SUSPENDED and MAY RESULT IN PERMANENT SUSPENSION.
ABSOLUTELY NO FIREARMS ARE ALLOWED ON BUTLERMOTORSPEEDWAY PREMISES OR RACEWAY PREMISES.. ANY OFFENSE AGAINST A SPEEDWAY EMPLOYEE OR ON A SPECIAL EVENT NIGHT IS GROUNDS FOR SUSPENSION.,AND IF SUSPENDED NO POINTS OR MONIES THAT EVENT
CHARGING WITH CARS WILL RESULT IN LOSS OF POINTS, MONEY, AND POSSIBLE
SUSPENSION. ANY RULING MADE BY FLAGMAN TRACK OFFICIAL ,AND OR PROMOTER WILL STAND AND WILL NOT BE GROUNDS FOR DISCUSSION,YOU`LL LOAD AND LEAVE THE SPEEDWAY IMMEDIATLY

Driver Protest Rule:$250.00,Driver Protesting Must have 250.00 cash in hand to protest another drivers car
.Pit area is restricted to vehicles towing Race cars,all crew members driving separate vehicles are to park out side pit gate or general admission areas to keep space availible.

Time Order: Pits Open 6:00 PM, Drivers meeting 7:00 PM, Track packing7:15 PM, Hot Laps7:30 PM, . 8:00 pm racing starts. Events/Laps:
a) Heat races;
All heat races will be lined according to the draw.
b) Features Events:
"A" features will be started straight up according to the finishes in the heat races./Unless it`s announced that the evenings races are to be inverted.
